About this class
The two-day Requirements Elicitation and Analysis course provides highly effective tools for both the capture of requirements, and the analysis effort of confirmation and validation of those requirements. This course works for any scenario involving the gathering of requirements or stated requirements from one or more stakeholders who have a need. This course addresses Requirements Specification Writing and Requirements Analysis which can be treated as separate but related topics.
Course outline
- focuses on the structure and language of requirements specifications to ensure that the
- requirements are expressed in natural language. Think of it as ‘transforming’ requirements
- that are:
- Necessary ( achieving business and product goals)
- Specific (traceable to purpose business or goal intent)
- Understandable ( clearly written and unambiguous)
- Clear (concise, succinct, precise to end user need )
- Feasible (useful but is it attainable?)
- T estable
- by testing criteria)
- The Requirements Analysis module addresses best practice techniques used to capture,
- confirm, validate, and gain a complete understanding of requirements communicated at
- all stages of the business analysis life cycle.
- The course is more of a
- workshop approach, activity - oriented throughout, to maximize
- learning and practical collaborat ion with others to elicit quality requirements or to confirm
- requirements elicited by others for value to stakeholder goals.
