About this class
Software testing is an important process in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). It involves verifying and validating that a software application is free of bugs, meets the technical requirements set by its Design and Development, and satisfies user requirements efficiently and effectively. The complete testing includes identifying errors and bugs that cause future problems for the performance of an application.
This course is taught by an instructor who led a Deployment Team for three years of experience within a Fortune 100 company, working with leading system testing for multiple online applications.
Who this is for
This course is designed for individuals who want basic knowledge of the entire SDLC by emphasizing manual testing approach that uses functional and non-functional testing.
What you'll be able to do
First, understand the entire software development process which the approach is to develop and deliver software applications. There are several reasons why we require a total view the software development process:
- Meeting Requirements: The software development process ensures that the final product meets the specified requirements that are needed by the customer.
- Timely Delivery: Following a software development process helps in managing project timelines effectively. It checks whether a project is delivered on time or not.
- Budget Control: The software development process facilitates budget control by allowing for better estimation and tracking of resources and costs.
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance: The process includes testing and quality assurance activities, enabling the identification and resolution of bugs, defects, and usability issue
Next, understand where software testing plays the vital role In the entire software development process. Software testing divides into the two parts:
- This step involves checking if the software is doing what it is supposed to do from customer needs and requirements: did we build the product the right way for customer satisfaction?
- Validation: This step verifies that the software meets the customer's needs and requirements: did we build the right product that the customer will accept?"
Then, the class with lead to a solid understanding of the types of the manual approach for software testing:
- unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, system testing, user acceptance testing, post implementation review
