This course will teach students fundamental database concepts and terminology, and the basic features of FileMaker Pro 8. Students will learn how to open an existing database and create a new database, how to create, edit, and sort records, and how to search for records in a database. They will learn how to define fields, create summary and calculation fields, and how to modify the default FileMaker layout, and create new layouts. The course also covers creating simple buttons and scripts to execute tasks

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, students should be familiar with the basic functions of their computer's operating system. This information can be obtained by attending one of the following courses: Windows 2000 Introduction or Windows XP Introduction. Students should also have basic word processing skills, such as copying and pasting text and formatting text.
