Learn basic Linux Enterprise Server administration skills

Description

This course teaches students basic Linux Enterprise Server administration skills. Students perform the following administrative tasks: update and monitor a Linux server; perform administrative tasks with YaST
Manage users and groups; provide basic system security; manage the Linux file system; manage software installation;
manage system initialization, processes, and services; connect the server to the network; provide basic network services (such as printing and web access); remotely access a Linux server. These are administrative skills common to an entry-level administrator or help desk technician in an enterprise environment. Students work with multiple lab exercises to help them practically apply course concepts and reinforce their proficiency with features and management utilities in Linux. On the final day of instruction, students will perform Live Fire exercises that test their Linux administration skills.

Prerequisites

Attendees of this course should have attended the Linux Fundamentals course (Course Number 3036A), or have experience in the technical skills and knowledge identified by the learning objectives of the Linux Fundamentals course.
