This course covers both XML and the .Net classes available for manipulating XML. It is one day shorter than course 2663, and has shorter labs than 2663. Unlike course 2663, course 2500 discusses the syntax of XML, XSD, and XSL and integrates Microsoft office and SQL Server into the course. Subjects covered include:
Basic XML; Syntax; using XSD;
Using of DOM; Using of XPath; Syntax and using XSL; XML and SQL Server (Not covered in 2663). Course 2500 is an introductory course; serious developers who will be using XML in a production environment should take course 2663.

Prerequisites

This course assumes that students meet the following prerequisites: Working knowledge of a scripting or programming language; Working knowledge of HTML; Working knowledge of how databases are used in distributed computing environments.
