This is a 2 day instructor-led course. Adobe Illustrator CS5x is an illustration program for virtually any project and across multiple media: print, websites, interactive projects and video. Take advantage of the precision and power of sophisticated drawing tools, expressive natural brushes, and a host of time-savers. In addition to learning the key elements of the Illustrator interface, students will learn how to integrate their artwork with Adobe Flash movies, Adobe InDesign layouts, and Adobe Flash Catalyst software to add interaction to their designs

This course is the first in a series of two courses. In these courses, students will learn the new perspective drawing tools, variable-width watercolor strokes, multiple artboards with video-specific presets, the new realistic Bristle brush and Shape Builder tool, and the ability to maintain consistent raster effects across media.

Learn how to use sophisticated vector drawing tools to create designs with precise shape-building tools, fluid and painterly brushes and advanced path controls. Beautiful strokes are created with fully controlled variable-width strokes, arrowheads, dashes and art brush scaling along a path.

Use perspective grids to draw shapes and scenes in accurate 1-,2- or 3-point linear perspective, creating the look of realist depth and distance. Print with vectors that resemble real-world brush strokes and achieve the expressiveness of natural media with the scalability of vector graphics.

Prerequisites

Students should have a working knowledge of their computer and its operating system. Students should know how to use the mouse and standard menus and commands, and also how open, save and close files. This course assumes that students have completed one of the following courses or have equivalent experience:
Windows XP Level 1 or Windows 7 Level 1
