The following is a list of available Fundamentals of Networking (Network+) classes at ISInc. If you do not see the course you are interested in, please contact us. We can setup dedicated, online and onsite classes too!
Are you new to computer networking and need to know the basics?
This course covers the fundamentals of local area networks (LANs), the seven layer Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) network model, and network operating systems (including NetWare, Windows NT, and to a lesser degree Unix variants). Readers will find considerable coverage of the TCP/IP protocol suite, including some of the utility programs used to configure it locally and remotely. There's also a lot of "softer" material about the duties of a network administrator, good troubleshooting practices, and the issues involved in network security. The instructors are some of our most requested and among the highest rated in the industry, with years of field experience in customer support and in education. They will supplement the course with real world examples and make their experiences your own. This course is designed to provide network technicians and support staff with the foundation level skills they need to install, operate, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a corporate network. This course will help prepare students for the CompTIA Network+ 2009 certification exam
Before attending this course, students should have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
• CompTIA A+ certification (IT Technician, Help Desk or Depot Technician) is recommended, but not required
• Working knowledge of file management tasks such as creating, deleting and moving files and directories
• Working knowledge of tasks such as using a word processor or a web browser
