Architect & develop SharePoint applications and customizations
This 5 day, instructor-led, hands-on course will guide individuals through the process of architecting and developing SharePoint applications and customizations. The course takes developers through the process of building and implementing business solutions on the SharePoint platform using the Enterprise Edition of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition (MOSS). This course also focuses on Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS) fundamental building blocks such as features, application pages, site pages, Web Parts, custom list types, site columns, content types, custom workflows and site definitions. In addition, you will learn how to assemble and configure business solutions by using and extending the portal and web content management features of MOSS as well as other server-side services such as the Business Data Catalog, Forms Services, Excel Services and Report Center.
This course is for ASP.NET developers who want to add collaboration support to their existing applications, Windows/Office client developers who want to move their solutions from the desktop to the web, and experienced SharePoint 2.0 developers who want to take advantage of the new capabilities available in v 3.0. This course will give you the tools and the techniques you need to build great solutions for the SharePoint platform. You'll be able to apply this information to create collaborative web-based applications that enhance user productivity and deliver rich user experiences.
Prior to taking this class, students should attend the course SharePoint Development Level 1, Course ISI-1155, or have equivalent skills and knowledge.
The ideal student will possess knowledge of C#, Server Controls, and Web Services. Knowledge of how to create custom web parts is helpful, but not required.
Attendees should have professional development experience with Visual Studio 2005, the .NET 2.0 Framework and ASP.NET 2.0. Attendees should also be familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and InfoPath. Attendees should have a thorough understanding of Office SharePoint Server.
