Learn to develop real world scripts to allow you to automate system administration tasks and manage Windows networks. System administrators can take advantage of Windows Script Host (WSH) by using the Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) language. This course also provides an overview of other technologies where you can use script, such as Active Server Pages (ASP), Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and third-party Component Object Model (COM) components.
System administrators will learn how to develop Microsoft Visual Basic Script-based scripts that use the resources of Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). Administrators will use these scripts to perform a number of common tasks in the Microsoft Windows operating system environment.
Windows resources that can be managed using WMI include the computer system, disks, peripheral devices, event logs, files, folders, file systems, networking components, operating system subsystems, performance counters, printers, processes, registry settings, security, services, shares, SAM users and groups, Active Directory, Windows Installer, Windows Driver Model (WDM) device drivers, and SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) data to name a few.
This course is intended for Windows 2000 or 2003 systems administrators who need to learn how to develop administrative scripts for their enterprise networks. In addition, this course benefits anyone who wants to learn about Windows Management Instrumentation
